Ambassador Spotlight: Patrick Foley
“Working on the go has never been easier now that I have Omni 20+.”
Meet Patrick Foley. Patrick is a 3D artist, videographer, and motion designer who creates unique illustrations, animations, and digital assets. Omnicharge is proud to have him as a user and ambassador of the Omni 20+, a portable device charger.
How He Got Here
Patrick's background is in photography and production. He's spent a lot of time in the film and television industry, mostly lighting sets and working cameras. He's since founded his own company, though he's never stopped learning about composition and how to create an impactful image.
Patrick has a master of arts in animation from the Savannah College of Art and Design in Georgia. Now based in Atlanta, Patrick produces original work and creates assets that help other artists realize their visions.
What He Creates
Patrick's original motion design creates "futuristic and abstract worlds with a pop culture spin." His Instagram, @patrick_4d, is a visual feast featuring creatures from his favorite fictional worlds.
Each piece adds a unique, thought-provoking twist to a potentially familiar image. Whether he's turning a two-dimensional character into 3D or adding realistic details that complicate the simplistic, Patrick never stops challenging contemporary culture.
A Day in the Life
Patrick never stops creating and moving.
"As a 3D artist, I'm always on the go taking images and pictures to apply as textures to my 3D objects," he told Omnicharge.
Patrick's work requires a lot of equipment, but he has to stay pared-down and mobile. With a laptop, tablet, phone, camera, and more already by his side, he doesn't have room for much else. It can be tough, especially when he's doing the kind of work that drains his laptop battery.
And that happens often. Video and photo editing require a lot of energy, but Patrick can't always duck into a cafe and charge up — not with so many devices to plug in.
Plus, he's often on location where he can find the best lighting and backgrounds. Those are too valuable to lose, even for power.
Patrick needed a portable laptop charger or laptop power bank that could pack a punch and leave enough room for all of his devices.
Staying Powered Up With Omnicharge
Omnicharge was Patrick's chosen solution because it's convenient and powerful.
"It's super sleek, fits in a bag, but it also really packs a punch with how well it charges and how fast it charges," he said. "The Omni 20+ totally made me forget about my limitations regarding power."
"The power bank gives me so much more leeway in making small adjustments and changes to current projects I'm working on," he said. He loves the freedom to work on an image wherever he is, whether he's manipulating an animation or tweaking a photo until it's just right.
Patrick can plug all of his devices into his Omnicharge, wherever he happens to be. He can often be found adding texture to a photo or poring over 360° panoramic images to use as environments.
Now Patrick can ride his inspiration to its limits. He can chase down the perfect shot or adjust an image until it fits his vision. Worrying about his computer or camera running out of power is a thing of the past.
Patrick continues to create innovative art inspired by the world in which we live. Each image uses light, color, shape, and shadow to make a statement — often more than just one.
